BANGALORE: Governor Ramadevi inaugurated the Harinama mantapa at ISKCON temple complex on Saturday morning.

The mantapa is the venue of 'Shata koti nama japa yajna' being performed by ISKCON priests to promote world peace and harmony. Soon after the inauguration, devotees started chanting the Hare Krishna mantra, and the governor joined in too. Said Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa, ISKCON president in Bangalore. "About 1,200 devotees chanted Hare Krishna 108 times every hour and took part in the yajna. It was an overwhelming response much beyond our expectations." Later in the day, Chief Minister Krishna, Revenue Minister Srikantiah and Bangalore Mayor Ramachandrappa visited the temple for darshana.
